On December 8-14, 2014 at the Russian Cultural Center the exhibition dedicated to 150th anniversary of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna (Romanova) (1864-1918) will take place.
The Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Louise Alice of Hesse-Darmstadt, the wife of the Grand Duke, the Governor General of Moscow Sergei Alexandrovich (1857-1905), embodied the best qualities of West European and Russian Cultures, developed and took on the mantle of compassion and charity, devoted her lifetime to tendance of neighbors. In 1992, the Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church canonized the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna.
The exhibition materials tell us about the brilliant days, tragic life and public mistery of the Grand Duchess.
This exhibition was prepared under the instructions of Federal Agency for CIS, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO) in association with the Foundation of the Assistance in reviving the traditions of mercy and charity "Elizabeth and Sergius Outreach Society" (Moscow).
